FWIW, I just started a new unofficial fan forum for City of Heroes, City of Titans, and Ship of Heroes here.

It's more expensive than you think.  For *one* person, you need a minimum of two physical computer servers, preferably three.  All have a minimum of 32 GB of RAM, powerful CPUs, Windows Server 2008 or 2012 Enterprise, and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 or 2012 Enterprise.  The average Joe ain't going to be able to do it, nonetheless afford it.

It turns out the three day weekend server cost $2,500 to set up.  It would cost an additional $2,500 per month to run.

Thanks.  I created an account, but I'm undecided if I will play or not.  First the whole SCoRE fiasco, and now it turns out an admin on the new server already went "rogue" and boosted his or her buddies' toons to level 50 over the weekend, causing a character wipe next weekend.  Not very confidence boosting. :P

Old news.  Why anyone continues to use Facebook is beyond me.

Yep.  I subscribed to DC Universe for a year last week as a result of this.  It's only my fifteenth or so subscription.

It's about time, although it's too late for me.  I gave up waiting two years ago and made a new PSN account.

Why anyone still uses Facebook, I have no idea.  Deleting my account was one of the best things I've ever done.

The only social media network I use these days is MeWe.

Shouldn't this be Borderlands 5 instead?

This actually looks like a good DC animated film for the first time in years.

I hope that Stargirl will be good.  If it's rated TV-14 or lower, it may tempt me to subscribe to DC Universe.

One of my favorite artists.  May Mr. Perez enjoy his retirement.

Ugh.  "I have a bad feeling about this."

I finally subscribed to Comixology Unlimited yesterday as a result.

Considering how bad Discovery's first season was, I am cautiously optimistic.

Okie, now that looks good.

Video Games / Re: Anthem

It's a co-op PvE shooter made by BioWare.  The city hub will be entirely single-player and will be "your story," while the outside world will be all co-op.  You play the protectors of humanity's last city in robotic power armor with jetpacks ala Iron Man, defending the city from giant monsters.  From everything I've heard, it's essentially a mashup of Mass Effect's 3 multiplayer mode and Monster Hunter World, except in robotic power armor.

I went against my better judgement last night.  After the 2018 Game Awards Show, I pre-ordered Anthem on both EA Origin and PlayStation 4. :-\

I haven't been in on the ground floor of a crap-show in a while.

Always, always disable UPnP.  Implementing UPnP was one of the worst decisions in networking, and that's saying a lot.

I resubscribed to CBS All Access for the Short Treks.  I am going to give Star Trek: Discovery a second chance with the second season because it's supposed to be more lighthearted than the first season, but as soon as I see any graphic violence or gore, I am out for good.

Man, that may actually get me to watch this season of the various CW DC shows.
